POLICY PLAN
THE TRUT FOUNDATION FUND 2024-2028
Below we describe plans and goals for the coming years of Stichting Fonds De Trut. We also explain how we will try to achieve our goals.
OBJECTIVE
Stichting Fonds De Trut aims to financially and otherwise support homosexual activities, in the broadest sense, in particular those activities that are undertaken by individuals and groups who do not have sufficient financial resources to fully finance those activities themselves. The foundation does this by supporting small-scale, non-commercial LGBTQI+ projects that are not or hardly eligible for subsidies elsewhere. In addition, the foundation organizes activities and/or events that specifically focus on topics such as sexuality, sexual orientation, gender diversity and diversity in relationships. We aim to create space for marginalized groups and/or people who do not sufficiently experience that space in daily life. We focus on Amsterdam, the Netherlands and international projects.
ACTIVITIES
The most important activity of Stichting Fonds De Trut is supporting LBHTQI+ projects. Worldwide, the foundation supports projects in the field of HIV and AIDS education, brochures for dyke and fag groups in South American countries, support for care projects for AIDS patients and support for activities for the acceptance of transgenders in Indonesia. The foundation is not only active abroad. The "tolerant" Netherlands can also use money in many areas to help people. This varies from performing plays, exhibitions about special people, publishing books, holding workshops, supporting youth groups. The foundation organizes an annual Trut Award.
TARGET GROUP(S)
Primarily, the LGBTQI+ community is the target group of our organization. Secondarily, people who fall outside this community are also the target group. More awareness for the 'Queer Culture' is relevant for everyone. Especially people who are interested in topics such as sexuality, diversity, inclusion and emancipation.
ACQUISITION OF INCOME
Stichting Fonds De Trut receives its income from donations and legacies. In addition, the foundation receives a periodic contribution from Vereniging De Trut, a discotheque run by volunteers.
MANAGEMENT AND EXPENDITURE OF ASSETS
The annual budget is approximately €20,000. The aim is to break even every year. This means that all received funds are spent on projects that fall within the objective. We want to maintain a small amount of equity as working capital for current expenses (mainly bank charges). There is no cash, we work with a business account at ING bank.
