FUND & PARTY

DE TRUT

Association the Trut is an Amsterdam queer party that has been organised 100% by volunteers for 39 years, the profits of which go to Foundation Fund The Trut, which in turn subsidises LGBTQI+ projects.

GRANTS 2024: € 48.400

We, the employees of Association the Trut, all work as volunteers and the fixed costs of the Trut are relatively low.

As a result, the association makes a nice profit, despite the low drink prices.

We give the net profit to Foundation Fund The Trut, which is then spent entirely on subsidies for LHBTQI+ projects worldwide.

Every two months, the foundation's subsidy committee meets to discuss the applications received.

The overview shows which projects we have awarded subsidies for in 2024. On the fund page you can read how to apply for a subsidy.

THE SUBSIDY COMMISSION MEETS EVERY TWO MONTHS TO DECIDE WHICH APPLICATIONS WILL BE GRANT A SUBSIDY. HERE WE PUT ONE OF THEM IN THE SPOTLIGHT.

KALEIDO COLLECTIEF

KALEIDO Collectief is a volunteer collective for and by queer people who want to express themselves creatively. Our primary goal is to celebrate and stimulate creativity and expression in the queer community.

PROJECT PLAN NO-TALENT SHOWS 2025

Anyone can register a performance for about 5 minutes prior to a No-Talent show, regardless of whether you have previous performance experience. The goal is to give the queer community the space to discover, show and play with creativity without expectations.

SUBSIDIE

With the support of the TRUT Fund, we can let KALEIDO flourish and open our stage to even more people. This allows us to build places where vulnerability becomes strength and where creativity can be celebrated without boundaries. Together we will not only create shows, but also a community that gives space to shine. We look forward to making this vision a reality together with you.

The Trut Foundation has decided to subsidize the KALEIDO Collective with € 1,000 for decor, make-up, costumes and props as stated in their budget.

TRUT VIBES #15

Trut Vibes tries to bring the atmosphere and magic of queer disco De Trut to life through a live meeting with a DJ, including an interview and a short set.

This time with volunteer Faycal, known as a DJ as F.AE.Y, who talks about his Moroccan roots, his work with the police and his favorite tracks.

This program is presented by Robert Weijers for MVS Gaystation, in collaboration with De Trut.

BECOME A TRUT VOLUNTEER

WHAT MAKES DE TRUT SO SPECIAL?

100% volunteers: For 40 years, De Trut has been running entirely on the efforts of passionate volunteers. The profits from Sunday evening go entirely to small-scale LGBTQI+ activities, in 2024 more than €48,000.00.

A rich history: Since the 1980s, De Trut has been a safe and vibrant place for the queer community. We are proud of our history and the role we play in the emancipation of LGBTQI+ people.

A flat organizational structure:  With us, everyone is equal. We believe in collaboration and give every volunteer a voice in the club's ins and outs. We do not have a director or manager and decisions are made by consensus.

A close-knit community:  At De Trut you will find a warm and inclusive environment where you can be yourself and meet new people.
